Dear Prep Lacrosse,

I am writing to inform you that I created a scholarship fund at Saint Peter's Prep entitled The Global Opportunities Scholarship. The objective of the scholarship is to provide need-based students the opportunity to participate in one of Prep's enrichment programs such as a study abroad trip, service opportunity or an adventure field trip. Many members of the student body cannot afford the wonderful enrichment opportunities that Prep has to offer; this scholarship provides them with the resources to learn outside the walls of Grand and Warren. Our goal is to raise $25,000 by June 1. Senior midfielder, Eric Nieves, has done a fantastic job of leading our scholarship team since September.

In order to raise awareness about this scholarship and the importance of travel and adventure education, I will be biking over 2,000 miles from Vancouver, Canada to Tijuana, Mexico with fellow English teacher, Peter Geary.
